Five heritage houses and museums in Ambato will be part of the Flower Route that will begin this March 8, 2024.

The Flower Route will take place from tomorrow, Friday, March 8 to Wednesday, March 13, the event organized by the Municipality of Ambato is part of the 73rd edition of the Fruit and Flower Festival (FFF).

This activity will be carried out in five spaces in the canton, these are: Edmundo Martínez Museum, Pachano Lalama Cultural Center, Ambato Municipality in the center, Juan Benigno Vela Museum and the City Museum, located on the corner of Rocafuerte and Juan León Mera.

Organization

Cecilia Chacón, director of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Ambato, said that the museums and cultural houses will have flower decorations, not large allegories as in previous years.

“We are going to have small structures that will give beauty to the houses and that fulfill the purpose of the Flower Route,” he assured.

Regarding the City Museum, one of the spaces that houses the route, Chacón assured that during this month there will be a temporary opening of the space in which the exhibition Roots of the City, Architecture and Society will be held until March 30.

“At the end of the year we have planned the inauguration (City Museum) with all the museological implementation,” he assured.

The cultural houses and museums will be open from 09:00 to 18:00 during the main festival of the Ambateños, admission is free. Visitors will have guides who will be in charge of exposing all the attractions of the heritage houses.

Chacón mentioned that complementary activities such as pictorial exhibitions and dance presentations for all citizens will also be developed within the route.

Martín Paredes, from Ambate, said that he always goes to the Flower Route with his family, because they like to walk through the center and appreciate the floral arrangements.

“It is a great free activity that can be done after the parade on Sunday, I always attend with my parents and my children,” said the citizen.

More events

The Directorate of Culture also plans other events for the FFF, including the inauguration of the Luis A. Martínez National Painting Salon also tomorrow at the City Hall.

The Chocolate Fair on March 9 and 10 at the Atocha La Liria Historical Botanical Garden, as well as the Traditional Music and Dance Festival at the Quinta de Juan Montalvo. (RMC)
