The founder of the Celeste Room from Barcelona, Victor Joudied this Monday in a Figueres hospital at the age of 84, as reported by sources close to the deceased. Jou founded the popular Barcelona music hall in 1973, but he was also the promoter of the first edition of the Canet Rock festivalin 1975, and first director of the Mercat de Música Viva de Vicin 1989. An engineer by profession, he also founded the label in 1974 Zeleste-Edigsa, which gave impetus to the careers of artists such as Sisa, Companyia Elèctrica Dharma, Orquestra Plateria or Gato Pérez. In 1986 the hall moved from Carrer Argenteria to Poble Nou, where it would keep the name until in 2000, already under new ownership, it would be reconverted into the sala Razzmatazz.

The composer José Manuel Pagán Santamaría has indicated on his Instagram account that in the coming days there will be a tribute ceremony to Jou in Barcelona.
