The unemployment rate in Russia fell to 4.4% according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization, said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov. According to him, the labor market has returned to pre-pandemic indicators.

“In the Russian Federation, the labor market has recovered to a pre-pandemic level, this is true. The unemployment rate according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization is now 4.4%, ”said Mr. Kotyakov at the Eurasian Women’s Forum (quoted by TASS).

There are 850 thousand people registered in employment centers. According to the minister, the structure of unemployment between men and women is comparable and differs in “percentages”. The total number of working citizens is 72.3 million people.

President Vladimir Putin reported in July that unemployment was almost back to pre-dock levels. In 2019, it was at 4.7%, and in July 2021 it was 4.9%.
