Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived today, Wednesday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where he met with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan. To discuss issues of common interest.
The Iranian “IRNA” agency quoted Araghchi as saying upon his arrival in Riyadh, that his visit to Saudi Arabia comes “to hold discussions that lead to establishing peace in the region.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his “aspiration that these consultations will lead to “creating better conditions for Palestine, Lebanon, and regional peace.” He described Iranian-Saudi relations as “growing and moving in a good direction.”
Araqchi explained that “the purpose of his visit to Saudi Arabia is also to consult on regional issues and review the recent developments in Lebanon and Gaza, where the attacks are continuing there, and the conditions of the displaced in Lebanon and ways to support them,” adding: “Regional issues constitute the main goal of this visit,” stressing that he “He will definitely make another visit to follow up on bilateral issues.”
Media reports stated that “Iran informed the Gulf Cooperation Council countries that it would be unacceptable for the GCC countries to allow the use of their airspace against Tehran.”
