Israeli Channel 13 reported that “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant are supervising the attack on Iran from the General Staff operations room in Tel Aviv.”
In turn, the Israeli army said in a brief statement that it was “directly and accurately attacking military targets in Iran.”
The Israeli army added that “its forces are on alert offensively and defensively as it follows developments from Iran and its agents,” according to its description.
The Israeli army spokesman said: “The Israeli army is currently carrying out precise attacks on military targets in Iran, in response to the attacks launched by Iran against Israel in recent months, based on directives from the political level.”
The spokesman stressed that “the Israeli army is conducting a continuous assessment of the situation, and at this stage there is no change in the directives of the Home Front Command.”
Israeli Radio said: “Dozens of fighter jets participate in attacks on targets in Tehran, Mashhad, and a power plant in Karaj.”
Iranian television reported, “Some of the sounds of explosions in the vicinity of Tehran resulted from the activation of air defense systems.”
Iranian media reported, “There is no targeting of Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran or oil facilities.”
Iranian media published scenes from the vicinity of the Tehran refinery indicating that there was no fire or explosion.
Iranian media said: “The skies of Tehran are calm as they appear in the scenes, coinciding with foreign media reports of Israeli aggression against Iran.”
The Iranian News Agency said about the rescue services in Tehran: “No accident has been announced in the capital and its suburbs that requires assistance, and the situation at Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports is normal.”
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported, “Israel was in full coordination with the United States before the attack on Iran began.”
The newspaper said: “Before the Israeli attack on Iran, there was complete coordination between Israel and the United States, despite the leaks that came out of the Pentagon in recent days regarding Israeli preparations.”
The American CBS channel said: “The Israeli attack was limited to military targets and not nuclear or oil facilities.”
White House spokesman Sean Savitt said, “Washington realizes that Israel is attacking Iran within the framework of its right to self-defense, and in response to the Iranian attack early this October.”
He said: “We are aware that Israel is carrying out specific strikes against military targets in Iran as an exercise of self-defense and in response to the Iranian ballistic missile attack against Israel on October 1.”
He added: “We refer you to the Israeli government to obtain more information about their operation.”
