/ The opposition leader in Israel, Yair Lapid, called on Monday for the dismissal of Netanyahu’s government and the formation of an alternative government.

Lapid said, according to Israeli media, “Israel needs a different government and a different prime minister.” He also called on Benny Gantz to resign from the Israeli emergency government concerned with the war.

Last month, Lapid criticized Netanyahu and said that the latter had lost the trust of the majority of Israelis, noting that “the government of Israel no longer exists,” adding: “The Israeli government has not determined a strategic goal for the war it is waging in the Gaza Strip.”

As the war in Gaza enters its fourth consecutive month, a series of disputes continue between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government ministers, as well as with army commanders.
