The administrative body of the North Gas Sports Club announced today, Wednesday, the start of construction of an Olympic swimming pool, while revealing its opening date.

The club’s financial secretary, Hussein Dhahi, told the (INA): “The company executing the club’s Olympic swimming pool project has begun construction work, with the completion date for the project being the end of this year,” stressing that “the closed Olympic swimming pool will be an important addition to the club’s facilities for water sports, including swimming.” Which is of great interest to the people of Kirkuk Governorate.”

Dhahi added, “The North Gas Management has developed an important strategic plan for work during the coming years after it received great attention and unlimited support from the Chairman of the North Gas Company, Ahmed Abdel Majeed, with constant follow-up and supervision by the Supreme Committee of Petroleum Clubs,” explaining that “this interest gives the management The green light for implementing its programs in the future, especially the infrastructure to provide the appropriate atmosphere for athletes to practice their various sports.”

Dhahi pointed out that “the club includes seven different sporting events, in all of which it was able to achieve first and advanced positions at the local level, in addition to supporting women’s sports, which resulted in our club being chosen to represent Iraq in the Arab Basketball Club Games, which was held in the UAE.”
