Automakers Audi and BMW have disconnected Russian dealers from their own software. About it reported Izvestia with reference to car distributors.

In particular, restrictions on the operation of online services for BMW were reported at the Borishof and Avtodom dealerships. Borishof noted that the restrictions have led to the fact that it is now impossible to duplicate the key. Avtodom reported that they use backup channels to access online services.

In addition, a source in one of the dealerships said that access to the software for Audi owners was limited two months ago. “In addition to problems with programming duplicate keys, it is also impossible to install parts where programming is required – control units, gearbox, parking sensors and so on,” he said, noting that there is no alternative software for Audi yet.

On August 14, Izvestia, citing MB Rus, a distributor of Mercedes-Benz cars in Russia, reported that the automaker had disconnected Russian dealers from its own software. The company clarified that access was disabled, including to online systems through which maintenance and problem identification are carried out.

According to Petr Shkumatov, a member of the public council at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, Mercedes used to collect information about the technical condition of the car, which made it possible to identify a malfunction in a matter of seconds and quickly fix it. Now it will take more time to diagnose. According to him, in connection with this, the flow of customers to unofficial service stations, which are now working with third-party software, will increase.
