“People’s” signs were placed on the facade of the building that houses the local writers’ union

In Donetsk, on the building that houses the Writers’ Union and the Theater Workers’ Union, this week memorial plaques were placed in honor of the fallen writers – Gennady Dubovoy and Sergei Lysenko (who fought under the call sign “Bald”).

Deputy Chairman of the Joint Venture of the DPR (the Union is currently registered as a republican branch of the Union of Writers of Russia) Vladislav Rusanov told MK that the project of perpetuating memory can be considered a people’s project, since the writers themselves contributed money to it. “The boards were made using membership fees,” Rusanov explained.

Answering the question of how durable the material from which the boards are made is, the publication’s interlocutor explained that they are frost-resistant plastic with a print applied to it.

“We used the same material to make signs with the name of the organization. We tried to imitate natural stone with the design.

– Are there two on the list of irretrievable frontline losses of the Union?

– Yes, we have two dead. And I would really like for this to stop. But somehow it turned out that we left the place. God forbid, of course.

– Are there any plans to replace plastic with marble?

– We don’t think about the real stone board yet. Perhaps, when the fighting is over, we will do it together with other public organizations. After all, Dubovoy was a member of the Union of Journalists, and Lysenko maintained very good relations with the Union of Afghan Warriors.
