The Minister of Transport sponsors the signing of the minutes of the joint Iraqi-Spanish committee

Today, Monday, Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi sponsored the signing of the minutes of the joint Iraqi-Spanish committee.

The Minister of Transport said in a conference attended by the correspondent of the (INA): “The meetings of the thirteenth session of the Joint Iraqi-Spanish Committee for Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation, which were held today and during which areas of cooperation and partnership with Spain were discussed during today’s meetings held in Baghdad, which… It has not been held since 2013.”
He added, “A group of memorandums of understanding were discussed, including a memorandum of understanding proposed by the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, this is the first memorandum of understanding, a memorandum of understanding proposed by the Iraqi Federation of Industries, three memorandums of understanding proposed by the Iraqi Contractors Union, and four memorandums of understanding proposed by the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources.” Five memorandums of understanding proposed by the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports, and six executive programs proposed by the Tourism Authority in implementation of the agreement signed between the two countries in 1979 and sent to the Spanish side.
He added, “The Spanish side requested the follow-up of memorandums of understanding proposed by the Iraqi side, outside the scope of the joint committee, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the competent authorities in coordination with its representatives directly, considering that they are outside the scope of economic and commercial cooperation, according to the opinion of the Spanish side, which is: a proposed memorandum of understanding.” From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a memorandum of understanding proposed by the Ministry of Education, three memorandums of understanding proposed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, four memorandums of understanding proposed by the Ministry of Culture, and five memorandums of understanding proposed by the Ministry of Justice.”
He continued, “Several sectors were discussed, including the energy sector and the transportation sector, especially with regard to the development road project and railway development, as well as other sectors that were discussed with the need to fall within the areas of cooperation and partnership between Iraq and Spain,” noting, “Thanks to the Spanish delegation that Cooperate with us to make this important conference a success, which will certainly reflect positively on the country’s relations and on the economy of the two countries towards sustainable development.”
