The Ministry of Industry and Trade included several more cars of foreign brands in the list of parallel imports, follows from a letter from the department to the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD) (Vedomosti has it). The list includes Citroen, Mazda, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Ford, Genesis, Hyundai, Kia and Dacia.
Since May 2022, there have already been 50 other car brands on the list. Among them are Land Rover, Jeep, Jaguar, Chrysler, Bentley, General Motors, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Tesla, ISUZU, etc.
Earlier today, Izvestia, citing the Ministry of Industry and Trade, reported that the department included IKEA products, clothing, cosmetics and perfume manufacturers Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Kerastase and Yves Saint Laurent in the list of goods allowed for parallel import to Russia. Parallel imports to Russia of toy brands such as Hasbro, Mattel, Nintendo, motor oils (Shell Helix, Rimula), household appliances (Zanussi, Wahl) are also allowed, the Ministry of Industry and Trade specified.
Parallel import involves the importation of original goods into the country without the permission of the copyright holder or manufacturer. In Russia, this measure came into effect on March 29, 2022 in response to Western sanctions. In September, the mechanism was extended until 2023.
