The “battle” of everyday life is given by the construction site of the Municipality of Ioannito and the Prasinos department, with the added difficulty of the delay in the budget vote, which means that the scope for interventions is small.
Efforts have already begun to restore the road surface from the potholes, which have been created on many roads, even on central arteries, increasing the risk for car and motorcycle drivers. However, this is a cursory and piecemeal intervention, as noted by the responsible deputy mayor Petros Palaschas himself, which takes place in places where the problem is big and the potholes pose risks. A final solution will be provided in the next period with comprehensive interventions to replace the road surface where required.
Basic conditions are the passing of the budget, which is expected next week, after its approval by the Observatory, as well as the staff.
The deputy mayor’s office, which is responsible for everyday life and greenery, has already requested about 25 people from the 55-67-year-old DYPA program, given that the Community Service program no longer exists.
The program is “running” and, once the budget is passed, the necessary procedures will be carried out for the selection of the unemployed, who will fill these positions.
The DYPA program is the only solution for most municipalities, in order to cover the large needs, especially in view of the fire season, when it will also be necessary to clean common areas from grass.
