After a first edition which was crowned with success, the promoter of this sport, Zakaria Bandaogo organized the 2nd edition under the theme “ Strengthening social cohesion between actors in the criminal justice chain through sport (Razball)« .

The competition began on November 19, 2023. It brought together teams from several actors in the criminal justice chain such as lawyers, magistrates, GSPs, police officers and journalists. For three weeks, all the teams tried to defend themselves as best they could. But the final held on December 10, 2023, pitted the national police team against that of the lawyers.

Throughout the match, both teams showed great performances. In the first part of the game, the lawyers were dominant with a score of +18 against +16 for the opposing team. When the police resume, they reverse the trend. They won and managed to win the second edition of the tournament by a score of +30 against +23 for the lawyers.

The two finalist teams in full confrontation

For the coach of the police team, Warrant Officer Mahamadou Kologo, these are feelings of joy. “ We are very happy for this victory and even for the organization of this second edition. It allowed all the actors, police officers, GSP, journalists, lawyers, etc., to come together and sympathize. It was very interesting“, he indicated.

However, the coach wanted the organizers to review the principles of the game, especially in the event of serious misconduct. “ When a player receives a red card, he is obliged to go out and leave his teammate alone who must defend the area for 10 minutes. We find that this time is too much and does not allow a single player to last on the field. If they could see this side again it would be more interesting“, suggested the winners’ coach.

For the Captain of the lawyers, Me Ousmane Compaoré, they were not unworthy. “ We tried to defend ourselves as best we could, but these are the rules of the game. There must be a winner and a loser. We take this with fair play and we promise to come back with more energy in the third edition“, promised the Captain of the lawyers.

At the end of this 2nd edition, the gendarmerie team came out 3rd and won jerseys and a net. The lawyers’ team, 2nd, wins jerseys, a net and a sum of 50,000 FCFA. Crowned winner, the national police leave with jerseys, a net and a sum of 100,000 FCFA.

According to the promoter of the tournament, also a magistrate and deputy prosecutor of Bobo-Dioulasso, Zakaria Bandaogo, this second edition was a success. “ It is a great satisfaction for us to see all this mobilization to support this emerging sport which is the pride of Burkina Faso.” , did he declare. This tournament, he said, was an opportunity to bring justice closer to the litigants.

Razball promoter Zakaria Bandaogo says he is satisfied with the organization of this second edition.

Zakaria Bandaogo plans to transport Razball locally and even export it globally. To do this, he is seeking support from the Ministry of Sports for the creation of a Razball federation in Burkina Faso. The president of APIRAZ, Zakaria Bandaogo invites schools and universities to adopt this sport “made in Burkina”.

The Attorney General at the Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal, also president of the ceremony, Didier Hien first congratulated the promoter for the organization of this second edition which brings together the actors of the penal chain. However, he invites the organizers to extend the tournament to the rest of the population and other professional bodies.
