A Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Union of Industrialists and Businessmen of Armenia and the China Foreign Trade Center on April 20, according to which the parties aim to contribute to the establishment of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries in the business sphere and the expansion of long-term cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, in particular, the China Import and Export Fair. (Canton Fair) organization.

The document was signed from the Armenian side by the President of the Armenian Trade Union, Arsen Ghazaryan, from the Chinese side by the Deputy General Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, and the Deputy General Secretary of the Canton Fair, Ye JiJiang.

The solemn signing ceremony took place on the same day, organized as part of the online awareness event of the Canton Fair, in which, in addition to the organizers, businessmen representing various branches of the economy, representatives of sectoral non-governmental organizations, media participated.

“The signed agreement will allow to get to know and analyze the advantages of the Chinese market in more detail, the possibilities of deepening bilateral cooperation, to increase the volumes of mutual trade,” said Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Industrialists and Businessmen of Armenia. According to him, certain traditions of Armenian-Chinese economic relations have already been formed, starting from the times of active activity of the Silk Road, and even today, Armenia is ready to play an active role in the process of its reactivation, to contribute to the development of regional cooperation.

“Despite the difficult times caused by various circumstances, we should try to strengthen and deepen our economic relations as much as possible,” said Yu Yi, Deputy General Director of the External Relations Office of the China Import and Export Fair. According to his assurance, Armenian products are highly valued in the Chinese market, and direct cooperation with Armenian partners, the signed agreement, will be a new incentive to expand bilateral cooperation.

The participants of the online awareness event were greeted and wished for further effective cooperation by the trade and economic affairs advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Armenia, Wang Zhuxuan and the trade representative of Armenia in the PRC, Artashes Petrosyan, expressing their readiness to fully support bilateral business initiatives.

Ye JiJiang introduced the history of the Canton Fair, the opportunities provided, and the methods of participation, and also answered the questions of interest to businessmen.
