The State Revenue Committee informs that on April 16, 2022, the RA Government’s decision No. 514 of April 15, 2022 came into force, according to which, during 2022, motor vehicles with an electric motor (EATM ETA AA 8703 80 000 2 code) import to the Republic of Armenia is allowed under the condition of application of zero percent import duty rate, with a volume of no more than 6400 pieces.

In order to receive this tariff privilege of the customs duty, the declarant must submit the customs declaration to the relevant customs body after the vehicle is imported into the Republic of Armenia. In case of importation of up to 6,400 vehicles with an electric motor to RA, the declaration will be registered by the customs authorities and a customs duty exemption will be granted. In the event that the specified quantity is used up, the customs authorities will not provide a customs duty privilege during the given year, and the declaration, registration or omission calculated using the privilege will be rejected.

“The committee informs that in the case of preliminary customs declaration for the purpose of applying this privilege, the customs duty privilege can be granted only after the import of the vehicle with an electric motor into RA, in case of submission of the final declaration to the customs authorities.

In the case of the presence of simultaneously registered customs declarations, the possibility of applying the tariff privilege is provided to the vehicles that crossed the customs border of the Republic of Armenia earlier.

We remind you that in accordance with the requirements of the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 39 of March 17, 2022, vehicles imported to the Republic of Armenia using this privilege cannot be provided to citizens of the Russian Federation and (or) persons with permanent residence in the Russian Federation for the purpose of possession, management and use. , – stated in the SRC message.
