The Chavista deputy José Brito requested this Thursday that the Comptroller General (court of accounts) make it public that the opposition leader Machado, registered for the opposition primaries scheduled for October, “will be disqualified from internal opposition elections,” which would prevent him from participating in the 2024 presidential elections.
In its response, the Comptroller General of Venezuela determined that Machado will be disqualified in the next 15 years from holding any position in the Public Administration.
This is inconsistent with what he decided in 2015 when he disqualified her for a year for not having included “concepts” of a labor nature in his affidavit of assets, for which reason he could not run again as a deputy that year.
The restrictive measure expired the following year in 2016 and María Corina I would be free of all bureaucratic guilt for not supposedly filling out the entire form of his estate. But now the Comptroller’s Office is once again dusting off the file to arbitrarily prevent him from participating in the primaries, the presidential elections and every election that comes up in the future.

Favorite in the polls
This is the second attempt that the regime uses to remove the electoral game from the poll favorite. The disqualification of opponents does not prevent their participation in the primary elections scheduled for October 22, to which some 14 candidates have registered, whose favorite continues to be María Corina, who has already declared that she will continue with more force to be the single opposition candidate who will face Maduro in the 2024 presidential elections.

This 15-year disqualification against Machado is “an unconstitutional, unfounded, and shameful action,” said Henrique Capriles, a former unitary presidential candidate in 2012 and 2013.
“We categorically reject this new example of the anti-democratic course of Maduro and his regime. They will not be able to take away the hope of Venezuelans for a change to have a better country! This disqualification, like ours and that of other opposition leaders, is illegitimate, unjustified and, above all, unconstitutional,” he said in his tweet.
