AB Party Convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, condemning the policy and role of banning Waj and Iftar celebrations in different parts of the country, said that such a move by the government amounts to communal incitement.
He said this while inaugurating the month-long Gani Iftar program at Vijay-71 Chattar, adjacent to AB Party’s central office in the capital on Tuesday (March 12).
AB Party has undertaken a model program to distribute healthy and safe food to the helpless and troubled people during the extreme economic crisis of the country. Every day 1 thousand 500 needy people will be given this food during Iftar. On the first day on Tuesday, the food was distributed among the people gathered at Vijay-71 Chattar and the worshipers of some mosques.
AFM Solaiman Chowdhury said, it is our tradition to sit and eat Iftar with relatives and neighbors in Ramadan. In Iftar Mahfils, cordial harmony is practiced and instructive discussions are held. Unfortunately, the current dummy government has adopted a repressive policy in some places, including Noakhali and Shahjalal University, regarding Iftar parties.
The convener of the AB party thinks that stopping Iftar and Waj Mahfil on various occasions is a terrible conspiracy. He said that the government has no idea about the smuggling of thousands of rupees. But, when it comes to iftar and waz mahfil, they actually think about cost reduction. We feel that this is clearly communal discrimination and incitement.
