Zinedine Zidane, the former coach of the Spanish team Real Madrid, was exposed to a new shock in his coaching career, as Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, closed the door on the possibility of ousting Rooster coach Didier Deschamps next summer, if the team’s results deteriorate in Euro 2024.
Diallo said in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro: “I have no doubts about Deschamps, and I will not issue any prejudgements. The current focus is on creating the best suitable conditions for Deschamps and the players for the team to express itself strongly.” He added: “We are one of the teams favored to win the title, and we must not disrupt the winning machine.”
When asked: Is Zidane waiting for the French national team or is he looking for a new club? Diallo replied: “Zidane is one of the symbols of French football, and we have great appreciation and gratitude for what he gave to the French people.”
The President of the French Federation concluded his statements in this regard: “But we currently have the best technical director in French football, and he will remain in his position until 2026.”
“Zizou” has remained without work since the end of his second term with Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, amid reports confirming that he is waiting to coach the French national team.
