The Thuringian AfD politician Björn Höcke is said to have used a banned saying again. This will be heard at the Halle regional court.

The Halle public prosecutor’s office has brought another charge against the Thuringian AfD parliamentary group leader Björn Höcke. The public prosecutor’s office said he was charged with using the license plates of a former National Socialist organization.

Höcke is said to have used the forbidden slogan of the Sturmabteilung (SA) of the NSDAP, “Everything for Germany!” used again at an AfD event in Gera in December. The SA was the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. As a speaker, Höcke is said to have said the first part of the slogan “Everything for” himself and used gestures to encourage the audience to shout “Germany”. “The accused has not yet come forward with the matter,” it said.

The public prosecutor’s office has requested that the procedure for joint hearing and decision be combined with a procedure that is already pending at the Halle Regional Court. Because he is said to have used the saying in a speech in Merseburg in Saxony-Anhalt at the end of May 2021, the Halle public prosecutor’s office brought charges. From mid-April, Höcke will have to answer before the regional court in Halle.

The Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Thuringia classifies Höcke as a right-wing extremist. In Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, the AfD is considered right-wing extremist. Höcke is expected to run as the top candidate for the AfD in the Thuringian state elections on September 1st.
