President of SRC Rustam Badasyan sent a congratulatory message on Taxpayer’s Day.

“Paying taxes is defined as a constitutional duty. In a democratic society, paying taxes is an important component of the agreement between the state and the citizen, by which citizens not only authorize to act on their behalf, but also create real opportunities for it.

Since independence, this awareness has been continuously strengthened. In the Republic of Armenia, the solution of security and social problems, the strengthening of legality, the provision of normal life activity and well-being are directly dependent on the collected taxes. The best and most important manifestation of loving the motherland and caring for the motherland is the fulfillment of constitutional duties, including paying taxes.

Dear compatriots, the RA government has adopted a policy of developing partnership relations between taxpayers and the tax authority and creating favorable operating conditions for law-abiding taxpayers. I can state with satisfaction that great progress has been made in recent years in the directions of developing a constructive dialogue between taxpayers and the tax authority, raising the level of tax discipline and instilling the culture of paying taxes. Being a compliant tax payer is an honorable status that every businessperson today strives for. The tax and customs administration will become more and more invisible for law-abiding taxpayers, and the SRC will be perceived as a partner.

Dear businessmen, I assure you that your conscientious behavior, law-abidingness and further inculcation of tax-paying culture will always be encouraged and supported by the state.

Congratulating again on this holiday, I wish you endless energy, new successes for the sake of strengthening our statehood, and a bright future for us and future generations.

PS: On April 19, 1992, the RA Law “On Taxes in the Republic of Armenia” was adopted for the first time, by which the tax system, its principles, tax authority and taxpayer relations were formed in our country.

Aiming to highlight the role of taxpayers in state building and to encourage the willingness of taxpayers to voluntarily and accurately fulfill their tax obligations, in 2021, a decision was made to designate April 19 as Taxpayer’s Day,” the message said.
