The startup Permit.io has completed a $ 6 million lime fundraiser led by the NFX fund and with the participation of Rainfall Ventures. The series was attended by a series of private investors, including: Amir Jerby, co-founder and chief technology officer of Aqua Security, Cheryl Hang, Apple’s engineering director, Danny Grander, co-founder of Snyk, Idan Tendler, CEO and co-founder of Bridgecrew, John Kodomel, co-founder and chief technology officer of LaunchDarkly, Nitzan Shapira, CEO and co-founder of Epsgon and more.
Permit was founded about a year ago by Or Weiss, who serves as CEO, former CEO and co-founder of the startup Rockout, and Assaf Cohen, who serves as VP of Technology, formerly a software engineer at Facebook and Microsoft. The company is developing a code infrastructure for developers (SDK) that enables the implementation of permissions and access control for each application in a few individual lines of code.
Every application today is required to identify users securely and manage different types of users with different access permissions (Roles), but self-development of capabilities like Role Based Access Control (RBAC), Audit Logs, Impersonation and more can take months. Even after initial development, developers need to continue working on the permissions system to fix bugs and add new features. With Permit you can easily implement these capabilities, facilitate the work of developers and accelerate the arrival of the product on the market.
Permit’s platform provides all the infrastructure and components needed to develop and implement end-to-end permissions. These include components for logging in, enforcement, auditing, approvals, exposing phishing attempts, API automation and more.
Using these components, developers can easily build an authorization system and then integrate it into all enterprise applications. After initial development, the system can also be used by other factors in the organization, such as product people, through a low-code platform. The platform is based on the OPAL open source project, which was also created by Or Weiss and Assaf Cohen.
