The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation presented a new project – “Turk Discovery” on the YouTube platform.

Day.Az reported this on Friday with reference to TurkicWorld.

According to the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Aktota Raimkulova, Turkic countries from time immemorial had many points of contact, which caused the emergence of similar layers of culture, customs and traditions.

“We have common roots, a rich heritage – epics, the greatest personalities, customs, traditions, music, literature, and the main thing is that all this has found a place in the treasury of world culture. The Turkic trace in Hungary, the Scythian-Saka heritage of Azerbaijan, the treasures of the “Golden Man” “in Kazakhstan, the rise of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey, the ancient culture of the cities of Uzbekistan, the epic “Manas” of Kyrgyzstan, which is the pearl of Turkic literature, and much more. Our duty is to pass on all this precious heritage to future generations. People need culture for their spiritual enrichment, but also culture needs to be treated with care and protection. New generations must know it, absorb it, rely on it in their activities,” said Raimkulova.

She noted that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, whose mission is to research, study, preserve the rich Turkic cultural heritage, is a young organization that was created on the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan and with the support of the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, and as an observer country Hungary joined the organization.

According to Raimkulova, during the period of its activity, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has implemented many different projects in the field of promoting the rich history and national and spiritual values of the Turkic peoples.

“Books are being published, conferences, round tables, exhibitions are being held with the participation of prominent research scientists, work has begun on the restoration of cultural monuments of the Turkic world, etc. The next project of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is “Turk Discovery” on the YouTube platform, where programs and documentaries about the material and cultural heritage, ancient traditions, and national values of the Turkic world will be broadcast. The implementation of such a large-scale project will help convey information about the rich spiritual values of the Turkic peoples to the world audience. This is a modern and effective approach, since we live in a dynamically developing world. I would like to emphasize that, along with YouTube, the Foundation is actively promoting content to popularize the material and spiritual values of Turkic countries on online platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. I am sure that the viewing audience will greet the project with great interest” Turk Discovery”. The leader and “face” of the project at the invitation of the Foundation was the famous Kazakh journalist Maya Bekbaeva. Maya Bekbaeva’s team has been producing documentaries on historical topics for many years,” she said.

The President of the Foundation noted that the first release of the Turk Discovery project is a documentary film “Novruz – the revival of an ancient Turkic holiday” (it can already be viewed on the Turk Discovery project channel on YouTube via the link).

“The scientific director and co-author of the film script is the Azerbaijani statesman and politician, diplomat, scientist, representative of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Hasan Hasanov. The film crew visited Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Most of the filming took place in the city of Baku, important historical places of Azerbaijan. The film shows the unique, distinctive features of the celebration of Nauryz (Novruz) in each Turkic country. The goal of the project is to further strengthen solidarity between the Turkic peoples. The project team continues to work on creating interesting and high-quality content. Currently, work is underway on a documentary film about the work of Mahmud Kashgari “Diwani Lugat at-Turk”, which is a collection of Turkic dialects. It should be noted that in 2024-2025, UNESCO celebrates the 950th anniversary of the creation of this collection,” added Raimkulova.
