(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 22 – “We have jointly proclaimed between 3 and 5 April with territorial articulations the 24-hour national strike of all port workers”. This was reported by Filt Cgil on the protest called jointly by Fit Cisl and Uiltrasporti, underlining that “despite the numerous meetings already held and the recent proclamation of the state of agitation in the sector, from the negotiation with the counterparties for the renewal of the national collective agreement, once the last December 31st, we have not yet obtained adequate responses to the requests we made with our claims platform”. According to the CGIL Transport Federation: “it is necessary to recover the purchasing power which has significantly reduced in the last two years and recognize the right adjustment for future inflation. Port workers have been among the most penalized during the pandemic in as out of a sense of responsibility they guaranteed the supply of goods to the whole country even when the rest of Italy was at a standstill. It is therefore necessary to renew the national collective labor agreement for port workers and, at the same time, defend its principles constituent elements which have, up to now, contributed to guaranteeing the unity and stability of the entire port system”.
