On Saturday evening, an important event took place at the First Russian Theater named after Fyodor Volkov in Yaroslavl – the Sergei Puskepalis “Deed” Prize was awarded for the first time.

The “Act” award at the First Russian Theater was established in April of this year after a trip by theater actors and friends of Sergei Puskepalis to his hometown of Zheleznovodsk. There at that time a museum of the artist and citizen Puskepalis was opened. The main goal of the award is to support cultural representatives and public figures who are doing everything to root the Russian cultural space and preserve our true values, especially in new regions of Russia.

The Deed Award has its own symbol – a flying crane, a vigilant guardian of peace and a messenger of happiness, which personifies swiftness, strength and devotion to its mission. The author of the statuette is Yaroslavl artist Alexey Talanov, who serves at the Volkovsky Theater and personally worked with Sergei Puskepalis. He supported the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the choice of the residents of Donbass in 2014, and supported fighters during a special military operation. Thanks to his direct participation, assistance worth more than 20 million rubles was transferred to the front. And in 2021, he organized a tour of the Volkovsky Theater in Donbass: the world premiere of the play “The Upcoming Event” staged by him took place in Donetsk and Gorlovka. Moreover, the Volkovsky Theater’s tour to the DPR was carried out at the personal expense of Sergei Puskepalis.

And now the names of the winners of the first “Deed” prize have been announced. There are four of them – actress, TV and radio presenter Yana Poplavskaya, thanks to whose efforts military doctors now have a hospital almost on the front line and for him, through the efforts of the actress, medical equipment and a bus were purchased. The winner of the “Deed” award was the famous actor Sergei Mokhovikov: for him Donbass became second home. It means charitable assistance, humanitarian aid, concerts, and also a tram that now travels around the city. The winners were the author and performer Anna Osipova, known as Utah (since 2014, she has been performing concerts in the Donbass) and Makeyevka teacher Nadezhda Khitryakova, who knows what it means to teach children under fire. The teacher has been leading the school theater for many years. The award was presented to the teacher from Makeevka by Polina Agureeva. Journalist and famous blogger Yuri Podolyak also received a special prize from the “Deed” award. When Yuri joined the Popular Front gathering, in a matter of days he managed to collect half a billion rubles. It remains to add that in addition to the statuette, the prize winners will also receive a financial reward.
