There are no internal reasons that would lead to a rise in prices. However, there are external ones. Since the beginning of the year, oil has risen in price by about 10%. This is not small, and the trend is for the price to go even higher. However, this does not mean that the growth will be at the same percentage. Gasoline in our country has increased in price by 1.52%, and diesel – by 3.36%. Prices have increased by 1 cent for the last month. Towards the end of the year, the tendency will be for the tariffs to be maintained or even lowered. This is what Andrey Delchev, executive director of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association told NOVA NEWS.

In his words, the US will try to “push” prices down. “On the Bulgarian market, the values are stable, there is no shortage, and the refinery is working. Let’s hope it will be like this at least until Easter. There is an 8% drop in production in one of the major fuel exporters, which is Russia,” he pointed out.

After strikes against Russian refineries, crude oil prices hit a five-month high. “Just because we don’t buy Russian oil doesn’t mean we won’t be affected by a potential price increase. There is already a risk premium of $2-3 on a possible shortage due to the expected attacks on Russian refineries. There are no internal reasons that would lead to rise in fuel prices – taxes and excises are the same. However, there are external reasons,” he commented.
