He himself stated that he is not optimistic about an impartial investigation, because almost all the witnesses in the case are interested and sympathize with certain circles. Some of the witnesses began to explain that the testimony was given under pressure. It is impossible to say what is credible, Yankulov added.
“The public data about what Martin Bojanov was dealing with is sufficient and to a large extent – irrefutable. There can be no doubt about his intermediary activity, as well as the previous one – for the acquisition of properties in a fraudulent way. The investigative committee in the parliament was extinguished “It seems more logical to me that the attempt against him was related to information he possessed about people at the highest levels of power,” he pointed out.
According to Yankulov, everything began to unravel after the explosion in front of the motorcade of the former chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
“We have seen many facts brought out from the kitchen of justice. There are testimonies of sympathies with the Fifth Euro circle of senior magistrates. Before the criticism from the public, Geshev was always with the clear support of GERB and DPS. After the events of last year, representatives of the parties started to openly demand his resignation as chief prosecutor. And when Sarafov turned against Geshev, the prosecutor’s collegium and the SJC did not see any problems with the management of the prosecutor’s office,” summarized Yankulov.
