Wolfgang Fink is the German head of Goldman Sachs. In the interview he talks about rapid interest rate cuts, the Viessmann sale – and the demands of young investment bankers.

2023 was certainly a challenging year in many ways – but there is now some improvement. This also has to do with the fact that inflation rates are falling sharply. Our economists have therefore recently brought forward our forecast for the ECB’s first interest rate cut to April. We assume that we will gradually move towards the longer-term equilibrium interest rate of around 2.25 percent in Europe.
