There is currently no discussion about a possible meeting of the special representatives of Yerevan and Ankara, Ruben Rubinyan, negotiator of the Armenian side, vice-chairman of the National Assembly, told Azatutyun.
Special envoys Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic on the issue of Armenian-Turkish settlement have had four official meetings so far. The last one was about a year and a half ago in Vienna. At that meeting, the parties agreed to open the land border for citizens of third countries as soon as possible. However, there is no progress on implementation.
Recently, the Foreign Minister of Armenia, who participated in the OSCE ministerial meeting, while presenting the “Crossroads of Peace” project, highlighted the importance of the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border and the implementation of the agreements reached.
The “Margara” checkpoint of the Armenian-Turkish border is ready for operation.
“The Armenian side expects to receive more positive signals from the Turkish side regarding opening the border for citizens of third countries and holders of diplomatic passports,” Azatutyun was told by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
