For National Education, the situation is without appeal: it is an abandonment of post. “Since September 1, you have not presented yourself at your post in order to carry out your missions as a school teacher, and this, without justifying your absence”, writes the Nantes academy in the letter that each received. the two teachers.
Antoine Chiffoleau and Louise Brard had been preparing a joint world tour project for five years, postponed by a year due to the pandemic, says Ouest-France. In January, they therefore make a request for layoff to notify their hierarchy of their project.
“As the requests for availability have all been accepted for ten years, we had no doubts”, explains the teacher on a daily basis. But in March, the ax fell: negative response “for service needs”.
The disappointment is total for these teachers, who claim not to “have left like thieves”. “We were transparent and honest,” they insist in Ouest-France. “In theory, we made a mistake. But we deplore this lack of humanity. (…) To dismiss us is in total contradiction with the shortage of teachers”, deplore Antoine and Louise. They sent a new letter to the rectorate to obtain their reinstatement.
