The United Kingdom is celebrating a holiday today and marking 70 years of their Queen’s reign, Elizabeth II. This is one of the longest reigns in history and Britain is already preparing for the celebrations of the unique event that will be spread across the whole kingdom this coming June.
After a long period in which she was hardly observed in public due to a mysterious illness, last night the Queen (95) arrived at the Sandringham estate to mark the occasion and looked more radiant and cheerful than ever.
Unusually, Elizabeth II opened her heart and spoke of the continued years of British monarchy:
“When the day comes, my son Charles Will become king. I know you will give it to him and his wife withering The same support you gave me, and it is my sincere wish that when the time comes, Camila will be known as the “Wife Queen” (a title given to the King’s wife who inherited the crown as a result of marriage and not on her own).
This is a huge step in the two’s relationship after years in which the Queen vehemently opposed the relationship between Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles. The two officially declared a relationship in the early 2000s after years of concealment and denials and Elizabeth even boycotted their wedding when she chose not to attend the ceremony.
