RS Mangalam: 3 goddess idols were found while excavating the soil for temple renovation work at Kallikudi near RS Mangalam in Ramanathapuram district.
The ancient Shiva temple at Kallikudi has fallen into disrepair without maintenance. The villagers started the temple tirupani together.
In the area where the temple was located, the soil was dug by machine for the pillar pit. Then three stone idols of Amman buried in the soil were found.
Elders in the area say that the idols in the temple have been buried in the soil due to years of neglect and disrepair. The idols have been found while excavating the soil, they said.
