Cochin | Roy Yalat, owner of Fort Kochi 18 hotel, will be questioned today in connection with the death of three people in a road accident, including former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabir and runner – up Anjana Shajan. The interrogation will take place at Palarivattom station at 10 am. The police decided to question Roy on the basis of the DGP’s intervention. The DGP had sought an explanation from the commissioner for delaying action against Roy despite knowing that the evidence had been destroyed. The DGP’s intervention came following reports of external pressure to close the case.
It is clear that Roy changed his DVR at the hotel after consulting a technician. It was also found that Roy had called the technician in Idukki on a WhatsApp call. Meanwhile the visuals changed but the matter of the NVR was left out. Police received only footage from the NVR.

The DVR contains scenes of disputes with young women. Police also found evidence that Roy was at the scene during the dispute. Police have also received footage of the speeding chase after a dispute with Shaiju in Kundannur. It is clear from the footage that the two cars overtook each other several times.

Meanwhile, the court had yesterday granted bail to Abdul Rahman, the accused in the case, who was driving the vehicle. The bail order came after he was remanded to Kakkanad Borstal Jail in the evening ‘Judicial’ custody. Procedures could not be completed yesterday due to time delay. Abdul Rahman can be released after presenting his bail order in the morning.
