The forest department is investigating the death of more than 10 peacocks in the river near Thuraiyur in Trichy district.
After learning about the death of peacocks on the banks of the Ayyar river, the forest department went to the spot and inspected it. Of these, 6 peacocks were rescued dead and an autopsy was conducted. It was also revealed that several peacocks had died long ago. The forest department said appropriate action would be taken once the cause of death of the peacocks was known.
