by time news

In the first quarter of this year, the TikTok video service deleted 7.3 million accounts that were believed to belong to children under the age of 13. Such data is contained in the Community Policy Compliance report released by TikTok on Wednesday. The service, which is popular with teens, does not allow children under 13 to create accounts.

According to TikTok, in total for various violations in the first quarter, about 11.2 million accounts were deleted – this is less than 1% of all accounts in the video service. Also during the quarter, almost 62 million videos were removed due to various violations.

In January, TikTok introduced new rules aimed at protecting teenagers: the accounts of all users under the age of 16 became private, only approved subscribers can watch videos and leave comments in them.
