Japanese auto giant Toyota said Tuesday that it should suspend part of its production in Japan due to an explosion at one of its suppliers, without specifying when it will restore operations.
The incident occurred on Monday at a factory belonging to Chuo Spring, a supplier of shock absorbers to several automakers. where a worker was injuredthat company said in a statement.
Toyota had to stop production on some lines of two of its factories in Japan since Monday night, and a total of ten production lines in six of its 14 factories in the country were affected on Tuesday, the car company told AFP.
It is unknown, at the moment, what effects this event will have for the brand’s customers around the world.
