“Bobov dol” stopped working again – the plant was not working the previous weekend either. Employees of the company said that since the beginning of the month intensive planned repairs have been underway. In addition, the plant also shuts down due to low stock market prices of electricity and reacts to the relevant stock market situation.
Since the beginning of March, one of the blocks has been under repair, the repair will last 4 months. A complete replacement of the chimney of one of the desulfurization installations is also planned. More than 200 people and specialists are working on the site and in the various units where the repairs are carried out, experts from the Kozloduy NPP and the headquarters in Galabovo have also been attracted, commented employees of the company. A few days ago, the executive director of the “Bobov dol” TPP, Eng. Lyubomir Spasov, told BNR that a serious repair was being prepared.
At the same time, during a visit to Brussels – at a conference related to Bulgaria’s energy security, the mayor of Dupnitsa Parvan Dangov defended the thesis that the “Bobov dol” TPP should remain part of the country’s energy system. He stated this after returning from the Belgian capital. Dangov presented Dupnitsa as a municipality that has made significant investments in photovoltaic systems and that the construction of a new PAVEC on the territory of the nearby village of Samoranovo is imminent.
