Turkey and Serbia today signed 11 cooperation agreements. The ceremony for signing the cooperation agreements took place in Belgrade in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Turkish media reported.
Erdogan arrived on an official visit to Belgrade after visiting Tirana.
After the signing ceremony in Belgrade, Erdogan and Vucic held a joint press conference.
The signed cooperation agreements are in various fields, including energy, trade, technology, sports, social security, disaster prevention and management, as well as cooperation in the field of media, reports CNN-Turk TV, quoted by BTA.
“We are experiencing a golden age” in our relations with Serbia. Our bilateral trade has exceeded 2 billion dollars, President Erdogan said at the press conference with Vucic, Turkish state television TRT-Haber reports.
He added that an increase in tourists from Serbia to Turkey, as well as Turkish tourists to Serbia, is also expected.
Erdoğan also expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation between Ankara and Belgrade in the field of the defense industry.
He added that they discussed global and regional issues with the Serbian president, including developments in the Balkans, the Middle East and Ukraine.
Yesterday, Erdogan visited Albania, where he met with President Bayram Begai and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
