UAE sends aid to flood-stricken Sudan

The UAE has sent 30 tons of relief aid to various areas of Sudan that were drowned in floods. Officials also announced that a new air route has been created to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Over 1.4 lakh affected people will receive more aid in the coming days.

UAE aid to aid thousands displaced in Sudan The aid is delivered under the supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the ruler of Al Dhafra region and chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, according to the instructions of the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The first flight was flown to Khartoum with supplies for temporary accommodation. Three more planes will bring aid in the coming days. The Emirates Red Crescent is already in Sudan to assist the victims of the disaster and oversee the relief efforts. The Red Crescent will deliver approximately 10,000 tents, 28,000 food and medical aid parcels, and 120 tons of other relief supplies.
