According to the “Free Eugene Lavrenchuk” Facebook page, Lavrenchuk was detained on suspicion of some “financial irregularities.”

Lavrenchuk is 39 years old, he was born in 1982 in Lvov, in 2003 he graduated from GITIS in the workshop of Roman Viktyuk, specializing in opera director. He was the co-founder and artistic director of the Polish Theater in Moscow and the School of Acting and Directing. During his creative career, he has staged more than 30 performances in Russia, Ukraine and Europe.
