The University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab), through the Distance Education Institute (Iead/Unilab)is offering 216 vacancies for the lato sensu specialization in Science Teaching – Final Years of Elementary School “Ciência é Ten”, distance learning modality, according to the public notice No. 05/2023.

Participants

Holders of a higher education degree in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and related areas may participate (according to Capes table) and other areas, recognized by the Ministry of Education, who carry out teaching activities (classroom management) in the discipline of Science, in Elementary School II (6th to 9th grade), in the public network or private (see amendment nº5) and/or in the disciplines of Biology, Physics and Chemistry, in High School (1st to 3rd year), in the public network and in the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (these teachers must present the consent of the school board to application of pedagogical practices inherent to the nature of the course).

Vacancies

Vacancies are distributed by Unilab EaD centers: Aracoiaba (18 vacancies); Boa Viagem (36); Campos Sales (36); Jaguaribe (36), Limoeiro do Norte (36), Redenção (18) and Sobral (36). Among these, there are vacancies for affirmative actions – blacks, indigenous peoples, quilombolas and people with disabilities.

about the specialization

The specialization is offered free of charge, in blended form, with physical support in the face-to-face support centers, with a duration of 18 months and a workload of 360 hours that include completion of credits and preparation of Course Completion Work (TCC), with online classes (virtual platform provided by the university) throughout the course period. On Saturdays, specifically on dates determined in the course calendar (it will be announced on the course website after the inaugural class), there will be in-person assessment applications at the in-person center to which the student is linked.

Candidates must have, to take the course, a computer with a multimedia kit (webcam, microphone and speaker), as well as broadband Internet access. Or they must be available to attend the Centers at times different from the face-to-face meetings, in order to carry out activities in the university’s Virtual Learning Environment. Activities in the virtual environment have deadlines, which will follow the dates of the academic calendar of the course.
