Diesel SUV Cars:

Sales of diesel cars and SUVs in some segments in India may be slightly sluggish. But some automakers continue to offer diesel editions. In fact, despite many manufacturers discontinuing their diesel editions, the Greta diesel edition still accounts for 45 percent of Hyundai’s midsize SUV sales. Among those who booked Kia’s Seltos facelift, 42 percent opted for the diesel model. Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata and MG Motor India still offer diesel options. In this case, some more diesel car editions are soon to be brought to the Indian market on behalf of those companies.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift:

Mahindra’s monocoque compact SUV gets a facelift. It brings several cosmetic changes in line with the new Mahindra SUVs. Its cabin will be similar to the recently updated XUV400 electric vehicle. While the XUV300 facelift remains mechanically unchanged, the feature list has been significantly improved. Dual 10.25-inch screens are expected. The same 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine is available with manual and automatic options.

Tata Curvv:

The vehicle competes with mid-size SUVs such as Creta, Seltos, Cushock, Taigun, Aster, Elevate, Grand Vitara and Highrider.

Mahindra Thar 5 door:

Expected Price: Rs. 16 lakhs-20 lakhs
Release: Mid 2024
Engine: 2.2 liter diesel

Information about the new 5-door tarmac continues to emerge. Accordingly, the 2.2-litre diesel engine will continue. The larger Thar, called Thar Armada, is said to retain the overall slab-sided look and feature several unique design elements.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift:

Expected Price: Rs. 17 lakhs-22 lakhs
Release: Mid 2024
Engine: 1.5-litre diesel

Hyundai’s seven-seater Creta derivative, the Alcazar, will soon get a facelift. The styling updates will be along the lines of the updated Greta, although some bits will be unique to provide a point of difference. The interior of the Alcazar facelift will also be similar to the Greta. At the same time it will be more feature packed. The 116hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine is expected to continue with its 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

MG Gloster facelift:

Expected Price: Rs. 40 lakhs-44 lakhs
Release: End of 2024
Engine: 2.0-litre diesel

The Gloster model car has been on sale for the past 4 years. Due to this, the facelift of Kloster will be released by the end of this year. The 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine is expected to continue unchanged. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic and produces 161hp in 2WD form.
