Uschi Glas was born on March 2, 1944 as Helga Ursula Glas in Landau an der Isar, Lower Bavaria, and initially worked as an accountant and secretary before her breakthrough as an actress in 1966 in Winnetou and the Half-Blood Apanatschi alongside Pierre Brice and Lex Barker . She achieved even greater fame in 1968 as Barbara in the comedy Zur Sache, Schatz. As a result, glass became a crowd favorite. Just in time for her 80s, she recently published the book I Never Was a Sweetheart, a look back at her life and work, but in it she also includes thoughts about motherhood and growing older.
