Uzbekistan says it will not allow the deployment of US military

The leadership of Uzbekistan will not allow the deployment of American troops on its territory. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Sadyk Safayev.

Earlier, the head of the US Central Command, General Kenneth McKenzie, said that he had a number of conversations with his counterparts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan as part of a two-day forum in Nur-Sultan last week.

According to the general, these countries “want to maintain ties with the United States as an alternative to Russia and China.”

McKenzie described the talks as “very productive,” but did not disclose details.
