From May to December 2022, 165,000 iPhones were imported to Russia from India. This is more than twice as much as in the same period in 2021 (70 thousand devices).
As follows from the report of the GS Group holding, which Vedomosti reviewed, the total volume of parallel iPhone imports to Russia in 2022 consisted of devices supplied from India by 15%.
At the same time, in 2021, India’s share in the supply of Apple products to Russia was only 2.2%. China remains the leading exporter of the iPhone to Russia.
The volume of parallel imports of Apple smartphones to Russia in 2022 was three times lower than official imports in 2021. In September, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the new iPhone 14 would be delivered to Russia through parallel imports.
