The ODI series for the 20th Vijay Hazare Cup is being played in seven cities, including Mumbai, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur and Rajkot. The 38 participating teams are divided into 6 divisions and compete in the league.
The reigning champions Mumbai met Baroda in the ‘Elite B’ category. Baroda won the toss and elected to bat first. They were all out for 210 in 49.1 overs.
The match was marred by rain as Mumbai continued to score 100 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 23 overs. At the time, opener Jaiswal was on the field with 41 runs and captain Shams Mulani with 5 runs.
VJD used in local competitions following rain damage. According to the rules, Mumbai won by 13 runs. Mumbai won their second match of the series. This is the 2nd defeat for Baroda.
