The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterreshas assured this Thursday that does not see the end of war in Ukraine short term within the framework of the different peace initiatives presented by African, Arab and Latin American countries.
“I would be lying if I said that I think we are seeing a possibility of peace in Ukraine on the immediate horizon,” he said, adding that “that is why it is so important take measures to reduce the negative impact of war“.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, already assured in June during a meeting with Spanish media in Brussels that “there are no symptoms” that a way out of the Russian invasion of Ukraine can be founda.
Russia and Ukraine held certain meetings during the early stages of the war, most of them in Belarusian territory. However, those negotiations did not prosper and, since then, the agreements between both powers are practically null.
