Just last week, Washington suffered a 127:98 defeat to Chicago in the middle of a five-game losing streak. But since then she managed to recover, so much so that tonight (between Monday and Tuesday) the Wizards beat the Bulls 105:107 away in what was their third win in a row.

And maybe it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but this is actually the first time this season that Washington has managed to string together three wins in a row. And we are nearing the end of March, yes?

The team from the US capital did it without Danny Avdia, who had to watch his friends from the sidelines due to illness. One of them, Jordan Paul, stood out with 23 points after the Israeli forward gave him a taste of the manna ears before the game.

Corey Kispert scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his first career double-double. At the end, he was asked about Washington not winning at least three games in a row since January 2023 and said: “Wow, that’s something we want to happen a lot more times in the future. We are ready for the fourth victory.”

In another game, Domantas Sabonis made history and broke Kevin Love’s record with his 54th consecutive double-double (11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 96:108 victory over Philadelphia). This is the longest streak at least since the merger between the NBA and the ABA in the 1976/77 season, although the all-time record is still a long way off and belongs to Wilt Chamberlain – 227 games.

Sabonis also recorded his 25th triple-double of the season (more than any other player) and before him only Nikola Jokic, Russell Westbrook, Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson did it. By the way, Love congratulated the Sacramento star on the milestone: “Congratulations to the new King of Double Doubles”.
