The rate of import of goods to Russia has decreased significantly in recent weeks, measures are being taken to stabilize it by simplifying customs procedures, forming new logistics chains with new suppliers, stated Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
“Everything is being done so that imports, which have been significantly reduced in recent weeks, stabilize as much as possible, so that business can find new suppliers from new countries, actively import their products. We are developing new logistics chains with our neighbors, we are actively discussing new ways,” Reshetnikov was quoted as saying by “Intefax”.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation also announced that starting this week, customs duties on the import of a large list of goods from the Eurasian Economic Union have been lowered.
“We are talking about food, including children’s food, vegetables, in the near future it will also apply to a number of non-food products,” Maxim Reshetnikov said.
