We have already made the internal decision regarding unused lands, renting them and other mechanisms, and we are already clearly taking steps to implement these ideas, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the regular session of the government.
“We have a problem today and we have many agricultural lands in the republic that are not used for their intended purpose and the owners of most of these lands do not even live in Armenia, so we should talk to those people, ask them, convince them to lease those lands to those who are ready. process Now we are thinking of introducing such a mechanism to set a state price for land lease according to marzes and land categories, to have a legal regulation that when a land is not used for a long time and in the case when the owner is in the Republic of Armenia and in the case when the owner is in the Republic of Armenia who is not, we take that land from a person for rent by force of law, pay him a rental fee, and the state leases it to the economic operator who is ready to use it, that is, as a result of this, we turn the uncultivated land into cultivated land, while paying a certain rental fee to the owner” – said the prime minister.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of constant dialogue with the public in this matter.
“I think that these processes should be made 100 percent transparent, when as a result of closed discussions we reach 100 percent awareness from 0 conditional awareness and we argue with the public through these discussions, the first reaction is sharp,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
He noted that this is related to the interests of tens of thousands of people and they should find a compromise, but they should also understand that they will need difficult solutions.
