“We must complete our transformation from simple whistleblowers and whistleblowers to a major popular environmental and government party”

by time news

Mheatwaves, droughts, floods… We live in a paradox: reality is catching up with us and almost everyone is talking about ecology. But, we see it, there is no ecology without ecologists at the head of the government.

The breathless system that threatens the planet and the living does not even meet the expectations of citizens. In addition to destroying nature and depleting our vital resources, it devours entire societies, unable to guarantee human dignity.

Who benefits from the crime? To an extreme minority: the 63 French people with the highest financial assets pollute more than half of the population and no effort is required of them! During the back-to-school council of ministers, Emmanuel Macron spoke about “the end of abundance” … but for whom? It’s time to stop making the middle and working classes feel guilty, who live daily with suffered energy and financial sobriety, without any alternative being offered to them!

It is through grassroots and consent that change must arise. Moreover, many have not waited and are taking their part at the local level, in their daily lives, within their families.

They strive, often with very little means, to change their practices and adapt their lifestyles. It is in popular territories that the circular economy was born. It is crucial to allow these everyday gestures to increase and not be synonymous with deprivation, but, on the contrary, with well-being, that policies support and accompany this change: this is true for mobility with a much greater public transport offer at low cost or free, it is true for healthy but inexpensive food, or even for access to housing.

France of the forgotten of the Republic

We will find the way to a change of way of life with this France of TER, RER, overseas, forgotten by the Republic. It is this part of our society that the environmental movement has failed to convince, this cultural majority at the ballot box that it has not been able to properly listen to and integrate.

Our party has a first level, too often neglected outside the electoral sequences: the local groups. Politics in France is top-down, in its practices and in its vision. It is the Macron and Jacobin method that we denounce. It is time for ecologists to embody another way of doing politics. Let’s start with activists on the ground, let’s structure a quality territorial network.
